Text Education in Uzbekistan The 2nd of September is an important day in Uzbekistan. It is the 1st day of a school year. Uzbek children must attend school after they are seven. Universal compulsory secondary education is introduced in Uzbekistan. The children may attend national schools where education is given in their native language or Russian schools according to their parents wish. There are two types of universities and institutes in Uzbekistan: day-time and correspondence. Correspondence courses are for those who wish to combine work and study. Entrance to the university or the institute is by competitive examination which is open to anyone between the age of 17 to 35 who have finished the secondary school. The complete course at the institutes usually lasts 5 years, in some it may be a little longer or shorter. There are a number of Universities and Institutes in Uzbekistan. They are in Tashkent, Samarqand, Bukhara, Fergana, Nukus. One of them is the Tashkent University. It is the oldest one. There are many departments at the Universities and Institutes. The student of our Institute have favorable conditions for study and research: they have necessary equipments, laboratories and libraries. The reading rooms are one the ground floor. They are large, well-lit with many windows. Students have lectures and practical hours. They attend lectures on different subjects: mathematics, physics, chemistry, foreign languages, history and others. Students pay no tuition fees. They receive an allowance from the Institute. Read the following words and word combinations and make up sentences with them. In complete group, important problem, unnecessary work, impossible task, an ordinary person, improper behavior, irresponsible person, unprofitable. Exercise5. Объяснение темы. Pronoun “ one ” Местоимение One употребляется в качестве местоимения-существительного. One употребляется для обозначения неопределенного лица в предложениях, соответствующих неопределенно-личным предложениям в русском языке. One в этом случае служит подлежащим: One never knows what there will be tomorrow. One must protect the environment. Examples: 1.They don`t have a servant. They must hire one (a servant). 2.This problem is more important than the one we discussed yesterday. 3.I don`t need a red pen. Give me a blue one. 4.This matter is about the Aral Sea and that one is about industry. Вопросы по теме (тесты, кроссворды, задачи по обстоятельству) Exercise 1. Choose the proper pronoun in the brackets. 1. Don’t discuss this question now. Discuss the (one, it) about pollution. 2.This text is not on your specialty. Which (one, it) is under discussion ?. 5.-Please, show me that pen.- Which (one, it)?- The red (one, it), please.7.Most people (who, ones) live in Muynak are suffering from different diseases.8. I don’t like this mug, give me another (one, it). Exercise 3. Find out the nouns and pronouns which can be replaced by the pronoun “one” and replace them. 1. Our flat is too small for our family. So we must buy a large flat. 2. This hat is not becoming to you. Buy another hat. 3. Everybody must help to control the pollution. 4. Nobody must cross the street when the traffic is dense. 5. Everybody should follow doctors` advise. 6. Please, give your dictionary for a minute. I have left mine at home. 7. These fertilizers can ruin the soil. Use other fertilizers.8. Pollution is as complicated as a serious problem. Exercise 4. Make up sentences with the following words and phrases using pronoun “one”. pollutants, serious problem, crop, enterprise, beauty of our planet, pesticide, useful things, goods, automobiles and factories, individuals and groups. 1. Каждый студент записывает на листе один вариант ответа и передает его соседу, а свою ручку передвигает на середину стола. Педагог контролирует работу группы и участие в ней каждого.
